Once in a while, my video computer die from a kernel panic. If this happens while I'm recording something (which it normally does), I'm left with an avi file with no usable values in the header.
Is there any good way to fix such a file? The problem is that lavrec, when the kernel dies, cannot fill in all necessary chunk length data and other things that normally lives in a RIFF header. lavplay doesn't want to touch the file, neither do any other lavtool. mplayer doesn't refuse to try, but can't do anything with the file anyway, not even if I try rebuilding the index and such with it. I could most likely fix it manually, but that's a chore... /Sam ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IT Product Guide on ITManagersJournal Use IT products in your business?
