Never tried the -S option, but it works on my computer:
Recording time : 0.00.00:01

When recording stops (by pressing Ctrl-C) it records a single frame, I
can view afterwars with xv for example.

I usally record severals frames, and selecet afterwards the frame with

I'm A bit confused, according to MSI the board uses a VIA Chipset an no
Intel chipset. Older Via chipsets are known to cause problems with Zoran
based cards.

Which kernel do you use ? If you don't use a original, unmodified, Linux
kernel get the original Kernel from kernel.org and try again.

Or try first the current CVS Version of the zoran driver:
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/mjpeg \
co driver-zoran/

What does the system message log tell you ?

I fear that there is something different broken. I have just recorded on
my computer with the DC30 and the 2.6.9 Kernel with a quality of 95 and
did not encounter your problems.

For me you short sample I got, lookes as if you only have composite
input but uses SVHS, and a old problem the DC30 that was fixed a long
time ago (> 1year). But that are only guesses.

auf hoffentlich bald,
