        They do have one advantage over DV - mjpeg{a,b} is 4:2:2 rather than
        4:1:1 so if one is careful (and uses the proper settings in the
        tool pipeline) the color could be better with a mjpeg card.

        For state of the art in capture devices take a look at the 
        AJA product line:  http://www.aja.com (OS/X only but I export the
        data off to mjpegtools for processing).
