        Y Sample Rate (Msamples/sec)

        In mpeg2enc/conform.cc there's a table "level_limits" (line 177)
        which lists the max sample rate for the various levels of MPEG-2
        encoders. Mpeg2enc is a [EMAIL PROTECTED] (MainLevel @ MainProfile)
encoder so
        the entry "ML" applies.

        The calculation/check is done on line 284:

              /* Table 8-11 */
                    if (horizontal_size*vertical_size*frame_rate >
                              maxval->sample_rate)

> **ERROR: [mpeg2enc] frame resolution is greater than permitted for NTSC video

        It't not "NTSC" as such but the level of the encoder. "HL" (High
        Level) MPEG-2 (which can't go on a DVD ;)) would allow a higher
        frame rate using the "PAL" frame size.

        useful book to have around is "Video Demystified 4th Edition" by
        Keith Jack (ISBN 0-7506-7822-4). On page 587 is the same table
        you'll find in mpeg2enc/conform.cc

        Glad you have it working.

        Cheers,
        Steven Schultz
