Currently I would say yes. Maybe it is possible that you only decode and encode one video. Some other thing would be if you just take a picture of the last frame of the first move and the first picture of the 2'nd. Duplicate them several times. So you an generate a transition to black, and than another transition from black to the first frame of the 2nd film. And as sound you generate silence.
