I read the rest of the replies, so I guess this issue is resolved, thanks for those taking care while my email was blocked for a few days. Anyway, in the future, be sure to provide _full_ debug logs. Your log is with a default (1) debug level, which shows only errors (i.e. those that fail). Most likely, if the RCA was broken, we'd see a successful ioctl guess at the end, showing us that at least for software, all is fine. What it's doing there is just guessing/probing formats, and as you'll have seen, xawtv guesses tons and our card only supports a few (hardware limitation). Seeing a full debug log would've made that apparent right away. the way to do that is to supply the modprobe parameter debug=4.
