Many thanks to all who replied. I settled down Monday AM and figured I'd
tackle the problem.

Did I analyse the situation and follow the Bentley process to troubleshoot
the problem and come to a logical conclusion?????

Nahhhhh. I swapped a distributor from a known running engine sitting on
the garage floor - set the timing - and didn't look back.

Runs fine now. I think, like you all suggested, that the problem resides
in the distributor. I'm guessing the combination of the oil leak, and the
right combination of moisture and cold weather messes up the Hall sensor
and the result is NO SPARK.

I figured the distributor needed rebuilding anyway so pulled it out.

Ummmmm, Check the list for the next challenge considering the oil pressure
system.
