Suggestion: find someone other than a VW-specific shop to do it, or do it
yourself. All of the VW specific shops are a bunch of squirrels. Try to
avoid the following establishments: Buggy Barn, VW Sport, WagenSport, Zolly's
Motors, and VolksWerks. All for the above reasons. If you can find an
independant shop that will do it, great. But make sure to check around for
the best price, and avoid people who seem shady. Be prepared to be
dissapointed, however, as most shops will not take on this type of job. If
she has another car, this would be a great winter project, provided you have
a garage to work in. And I'm sure that there are enough of us here in the
area who wouldn't mind turning a wrench or two... ;-)
