First let me voice my position on the Eurovan: It is not comparable to any other people carrier on your side of the ocean. It is a van and not ashamed of it; it drives, handles and looks like a van and that's cool. Almost every company/embassy/insitution has at least one EV in their fleet which shows that this thinig is not a toy; it's a serious people carrier. I hear you can drop an Audi turbo in the EV; good for an easy 300bhp?
BBC's top gear TV show featured the golf rally car with a 220bhp TDI engine and a six speed sequential 'box. Redlines at 4500rpm and keeps up with the petrol-engined cars. Then they showed a golf TDI road car called PD with one fuel pump per injector and a six speed 'box with more torque than the new VR6. To 60 in about 10secs and tops out at about 120mph, plus amazing mpg. Two hrs later the german DW TV features a BMW Alpina Biturbo diesel with 238 bhp from 3.0 litres and 500Nm of torque (as much as the V8 M5), oh yeah and about 30mpg. Diesel rules (or at least will in the future). I know I watch too much TV but after these two shows I started contemplating a TDI swap for my 16V... _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
