The A2 is old technology, especially in light of the A3 and A4
chassis. On the national level, Stephane Trahan ran an A3 GTi VR6 in
SCCA Pro - Touring. Yan Tom and ?? ran identical A3 Jetta GLXs in
several events including Yan's spectacular roll @ Lime Rock.

The A2 somewhat competitive at a regional level however it isn't
incredibly well classed in ITA or ITS - 1.8l and 2.0l 16v
respectively. ITA competition for the car includes 1st gen RX7,
240SX, RX2 and RX3. ITS competition includes BMW 325is (E30 and
E36), 944 and 2nd gen RX7. The A2 GTi, classed in ITB does much
better unless it's pitted against the Suzuki Swift (the killer flea).
