The A2 is old technology, especially in light of the A3 and A4 chassis. On the national level, Stephane Trahan ran an A3 GTi VR6 in SCCA Pro - Touring. Yan Tom and ?? ran identical A3 Jetta GLXs in several events including Yan's spectacular roll @ Lime Rock.
The A2 somewhat competitive at a regional level however it isn't incredibly well classed in ITA or ITS - 1.8l and 2.0l 16v respectively. ITA competition for the car includes 1st gen RX7, 240SX, RX2 and RX3. ITS competition includes BMW 325is (E30 and E36), 944 and 2nd gen RX7.
