All other things being equal, the jetta looses.  However, all other things
are never equal.  Who knows...on a track the 10.1" brakes and weight
distribution might make the jetta faster through the twisties.  Whatever, a
slightly better jetta driver will beat a golf and a slightly better golf
driver will beat a jetta, always.  Besides, individual stock 100K mile
motors probably have a 10% difference in power output anyway , so at this
point there's no way to tell which is faster.
