I'm not sure if Matthew meant it this way, or if I've just read it this way,
but you do not have to remove the headlights.  Simply disconnect the wiring
harness at the back of each light.  You can remove it as a unit.

You do have to remove the core support, but you can leave the headlights
attached.  Oh, and the hold-down at the top-left of the condenser is held in
the thing by friction.  Use a small pry-bar or screwdriver to pull it
straight-up after removing the bolt from the rubber insulator.

        Remove the core support - start with the 4 bolts at the tops of the
        fenders.  Don't forget the hood release cable or the bolt at the
        bottom of the support - accessed via the bottom grille .  Remove the
        headlamps and main grille as well.  Remove all the radiator and
        condensor hold-downs - usually a bolt with a rubber insulator.
