I just use Simple Green. I spray it all over the engine, let it sit a
while, then rinse it off with a low pressure mist with the garden hose.
This does a really nice job.

: Earlier this week I had an unfortunate incident with some oil in the
engine
: compartment, so I'm leaving work early today to go home and degrease my
: engine. (The smell of burning oil on the exhaust manifold sucks.) I was
: wondering if anyone had any suggestions on the most effective way to do
: this. I bought a can of some spray degreaser from the auto store. Any
word
: on how good this stuff works? I figure I'll cover the distributor and
: throttle body with plastic bags. Is there some other stuff I should cover
: up? I guess I should probably disconnect the battery too.
