My '91 16v GTI is pinging since I put in the new distributer. It did it
before, too, but not quite as badly. I timed it as well as I could, but
the idle is uneven right now and getting it just-right is difficult. It'll
ping lightly pretty much constantly if you're accelerating hard in 3rd, 4th
or 5th. Is the knock sensor not doing its job??? How does the knock
sensor work in the motronic cars?
