I don't wish to receive flames for saying this, but cutting is not
necessarily a bad thing. Being in a market where tuning parts are rare, the
only other option was a new set of Jamex springs that lower the car a
massive 60mm. I wasn't after the lowering; I wanted more stiffness. I
removed exactly one coil from each spring which gave an even lowering of
just over 2cm (perfect IMHO). More importantly, the added stiffness was
surprising. It's a different car to drive now. Yes it gives a very harsh
ride but the reduced roll is noticeable, giving better control in corners.
Yes I need better dampers to keep up with the springs, but until then I'm
better off lowered.
