I have a bunch of friends with Scoobies. Some turbo'd to various levels of crazyness and none of them have had tranny problems. Besides, pumping 350+hp through a car with a sequential tranny on rally courses isn't exactly EASY on any tranny and has very little to do with the street cars. IMHO Scoobies are some of the best cars out there and I could see myself buying a WRX.

Oh, come on buddy!! VW has lost entire seasons in rally due to transmission problems. VW's have some of the worst problems with trannies and no fix in like 25 years.

I'm not sure I'm gonna buy a subaru any time soon. SCC blew their
gearbox, and every rally I watch there's at least one subaru that loses a
couple gears and needs a tranny changed. Stuff like that just goes
to show how durable (or not durable) some of those stock components
are. I have a feeling subaru will fix that sooner or later.
