Well, I switched the grey and black connectors and now the car actually starts with them connected. For a brief moment there the engine idled very smoothly and everything was better than ever, then my dad went ahead and unplugged the ISV and plugged it back in and it ran like it normally does after that. Greeaaaat, thanks dad. Not that the car runs bad normally, it just ran really smoothly when something went right there. I'll f around with it tomorrow or the next day when I get time, I'll keep everyone posted just in case anyone needs to know about my situation...
