I also suspect a bad temp sensor or something of the like. The dpr is not something that i would just pull out and test because from what i've heard it is difficult to get adjusted correctly and if your car is already runing bad it could make things worse. I would definitly test it and anything else electrical. If you monitor the current going to the dpr you should be able to tell if the dpr is getting a good signal or if it is being "told" to turn off. Another place to check is the throtle pot on the other side of the air box. This sensor is used during warm up to help with fuel mixture. I have heard of many problems with the connectors having wires inside them broken and not connected from the a/c lines laying on it. I really think it is an electical problem. You'll probably spend a lot of time checking continuity on a bunch of wires or something equally as fun.

Good luck,

Marshall
