Just wondering if anyone on the list has personal experience removing an
old, and installing a new, power steering rack? We pulled a rack, pump,
reservoir, lines, etc. out of a wrecked car this weekend. It was a lot
easier than the install is going to be since the entire front end and motor
had already been pulled. Just trying to assess whether this would be a good
thing to let a mechanic do vs. me and a few friends having at it with hand
tools and the car on jackstands. It looks like it could be quite tough
doing it that way. Plus, my car's got a manual rack right now, so I'm
having to install the pump and run the lines, etc. I guess if this is a
"don't go there" thing, I'd like to know that ahead of time.
