Hey all, Performed an oil change last night, while removing the oil filter and struggling...I figured there has got be an easier way! Who better to ask than the 16V list.
My procedure: 1. Loosen oil filter. 2. Once off, set oil filter steady on power steering hoses to not spill hopefully). 3. Using trusty channel lock pliers, a good gorilla grip on the oil coated filter through the openings, and squeeze it past the AC hoses, the rubber flappy things on the back of the radiator, spill some oil, utter a few special words...and voila! My question...how do you all do it? Out the top of the engine bay? From beneath...never seemed possible?
