Yep the bastard bug just bit me, too. WTF is up with all these friggen
cranks?!

I checked the archives concerning this and it appears that doweling the
crank and gear is a good fix. Any sort of prep work? Loctite? Any of
those metal epoxies to fill in any gnarfs in the keyway? (The direction of
failure left a "ramp" of 20-30 degrees on one end of the keyway in the
crank.) Any particular type or number of "dowels"?

I've got some 1/8" drill rod and access to a drill press to drill a "fresh"
pulley (and to use the pulley as a "starter" or guide so that the crank is
drilled properly). Any thoughts before the carnage begins?

The only saving grace is that it appears that the pulley only slipped, and
never took a full spin, since the compression (170-155-150-170) doesn't seem
to show valve damage.
