Totally different "footprint"-- wouldn't bolt up. So I sold it and am currently using a Mocal sandwich adapter/Setrab cooler combo I bought from Autotech. All things considered, I opted for the poly hose, as I'd heard bad things about the "saw effect" of steel braided lines.. Few things worth mentioning about "kits". Autotech supplies four AN-10 connectors (two straight and two 90 degree) a through the radiator mounting kit and 5 feet of Aeroquip hose. This would have been great had I not needed 6 feet of hose and two 45 degree connectors instead of the straight ones. I ended up spending an additional $111 locally for hose, connectors and some nylon spacers. I could have got by with the five feet, but that would have moved the cooler away from a prime location directly in front of the radiator fan. Finished installation looks great, I even used some thermal sleeving and abrasion protection where the hoses route around the corner of the radiator near the wiring harness. As far as using a heater core as a cooler- I'd be leery about it. Although coolant systems can develop some high internal pressures, they are pressure relieved at a far lower point than the oil system. The Setrab cooler I'm using wasn't all THAT expensive by itself, and is burst rated at 300psi. The fittings and AQP poly hose are also designed for moving oil at high temperature/pressure. If I had wanted to save a few bucks by going the wrecking yard route, there are other cars with factory oil coolers- think I'd raid one of them for their parts first.
