Bad mouthed your VW? Oooooo.....I'd be mad... ---------- From: "Andy" <[email protected]> To: "VW Mail" <[email protected]> Subject: Baffled !%$@& Date: Sat, Sep 8, 2001, 7:42 AM
I have an 85 8V Scirocco. Last night I had been traveling down I-10 for about 2 hours and when I got off on my and coasted down to the stop sign, the engine died. It was hard to start back up and when it started, I had to keep giving it gas to keep it running. All the while, it was making a terrible screaching/sucking noise, but would go away after I got up over around 3000 rpms. My first thought, with the noise and all, was that the a/c compressor siezed up, but after the cop that pulled me over for flying through a 35mph zone stopped me, he looked and listened and said he thought it was an intake leak. I don't knowif this is important to know in the equation of thinking of a solution, but I just replaced the big transmission mount a fewdays ago. Theengine had been leaning close to the firewall for a while. I thought his suggestion to hold some validity until he bad mouthed my 277,000 mile VW. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have to take my son back Sunday evening and will need to travel another 400 miles on this car. Andy Morris [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>
