Is there any temporary fix to pinging? A mechanic said that my timing is probably set to about 12 degrees. Could I just loosen the distributor bolts and rotate it a bit by hand and then drive it to check it? I don't want to damage my pistons too much because it pings pretty bad, but I need a while to find someone with the light.
