I heard about the demise of Greg's car but wasn't present for the
unfortunate happenings - I had to work that weekend and missed the
race.  I think Glenn Ty (on Vortex if nowhere else) knows the
details.  From what I've been told, the car was bent all over BUT
that Greg didn't want a tremendous amount of money for the car - $3K?

In any case, it's racing - shit happens.  I totaled a car when
someone spun in front of me and then he "collected" me as I passed. 
Another racer with a 16v Scirocco totaled his car when a similar
incident happened.  Those are the risks that go along with the
massive adrenaline rush.  In Greg's case, it too bad that he couldn't
fix it.
