the g60 one isnt the best for anything. small, bad location, and really bad flow. believe it or not, drilling holes in the friggin plastic wheel arch in the front driver's side wheel well makes that I/C work much better... intercoolers can be found on alot of cars...just go to the junkyard and start looking. keep your eyes out for volvos and saabs, and i think even the turbo t-birds had I/C's. those will be the most prevalent in junkyards. keep in mind that parts like those go fast, so go to the pick and pull often, and dont be picky. pardon the pun, of course. also, try ebay. there is almost always a few intercoolers on there, and it will undoubtedly save you the mental anguish of having to look at that chick with the summer teeth every weekend. you know, the one that you pay to get in the pick and pull? pretty much any intercooler will do the job, some better than others. it also depends on if you plan on fabricating your own boxes or if youre going to use it stock. for instance, one I/C that a buddy has is actually two smaller ones (saab, i think) that he bought seprately on ebay, welded together with fabbed end boxes made out of aluminum. fairly cheap and BIG. if you plan on using a stock intercooler and not touching it, i would look for one that is fairly large (obviously), has decent sized passages, and has good sized inlet and outlet holes. unfortunately, you wont find one like that unless youre really lucky. no I/C (other than the g60 one, which is small and in a bad location) will fit right onto your car, but since the turbo is such a custom project, it doesnt make much difference. FYI, you can also buy brand new I/C cores in just about any size you want, then you make your own end boxes and away you go. those things get expensive though... ben _____________ List Sponsor: http://www.netsville.com To remove yourself from this list, send mail to [email protected] with 'unsubscribe a2_16v' in the body of your message See us on the web at http://www.a2-16v.com Visit the 16V Homepage at http://www.gti16v.org
