I had a leaning non-Recaro in my '86 Jetta. In the area of the tilt adjust knob there was a "post" that was screwed into the side of the seat bottom that was the fulcrum point, so to speak, for the position of the tilt. I had a cracked piece on that side where it screwed into, so it leaned back and the other side was fine. I got about 3 inches of twist on that sideat the top of the seat. I welded the piece and it fixed the problem. The metal is just fatish sheetmetal. I think the design could be greatly improved by thicker stock, 'course I weighed about 275 when it broke. :-)
