while digifant does well with keeping a high-compression 8v running properly, that's about all it's good for (IMNHO).
if you wish to stay w/ stock fuel injection, your best upgrade path is going to start with the AMS chip for it, a 2-liter bottom end, a lightweight flywheel, and good clutch. engine swaps will probably require management swaps as well, except in the case of the g60, and you may still have a bit of wiring to do in that case, as the g60 used a different version of digifant than some 1.8 8v's. i never got a chance to pursue a serious performance route w/ my '92 jetta gl digifant, but had i ponied up the bucks for an A3 shortblock and a close-ratio transmission (as well as a few other ancillaries, of course) i think i'd have been pretty happy with it. white.rabbit '87 vw gti 16v '85 toyota mr2 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nils9" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2001 1:36 PM Subject: 2.0 16V + G60 digifant > > Hi list, > the question actually is whats the (next) best thing to drop into > G60 Digifant car (after the stock 1.8 G60) ? > I have a deal on 1.8 16V head plus 2.0 bottom.
