You can replace the sensor AND the seal.
Check the archives for "distributor seal".  This was kicked around a couple
of years ago.  The information is out there.  Unfortunately, once the
archive came online I dumped the entire archive that I had.

The sensor's don't go bad often, but when they do, you won't go.  Try one
that is intermittent.  That is fun to diagnose.

If it's just the hall sender you can replace it.  If your oil seal is
leaking, causing your distributor to go bad, then you need to replace the
whole distributor.  Pick one up from mike potter or adirondack.  It's
gonna be about $200.
