List,

I'm currently riding around with a jumper wire in place of my fuel pump relay - not good! There is battery voltage to terminal 30 & 87 of the relay block w/ ignition on, nothing at 4 & 6 (relay switching circuit) w/ ignition on.

I just recently replaced the knock box w/ a used one to resolve a 'no-spark' issue. The old knock box had corrosion build up on the circuit board.
( I believe someone on the list had the same prob recently? Fonta???? )

I seem to remember the fuel relay circuit working fine (buzzing pump upon ignition) w/ the original knock box in place...just no spark and/or voltage at the hall sender harness connector...... I'm thinking the recently swapped in (used) box may have a bad/circuit to my fuel pump relay,,, I noticed in my Bentley Manual that the box does have direct connection to the fuel pump relay. Can anyone one verify that the Knock Box does indeed power the fuel pump relay switching circuit?

The car is an '89 16v GTi - Mexican production, CIS-E (duh) Jetronic.

Someone mentioned it may be a bad ground at the coil?????

Just an FYI,,New ignition components include: wires, plugs, distributor (complete), coil and used knock box.

TIA for any help and suggestions,
_______
