yeah, speaking of VW autos... I was driving my girlfriend's A3 Jetta
the other day (96, GL, auto, 64 K miles), and upon hopping in and
putting it in reverse, it rolled FORWARD down a bit of a hill into her
sister's front lawn (it was parked at her sister's co-op). I had to hop
the revs up to get it to actually catch and go, and then I had to coax
it into going forward. I said "how long has it been doing this?" and
she said "doing what?". I think part of me died...
