My troubleshooting technique is really terrible. After replacing both the
in tank fuel pump and main pump I found out they were not even the cause
of the hesitation under load. Turns out that there was carbon all over
the place in the distributor cap. I just replaced the cap, rotor, and
plugs less than 10k miles ago. The gap on the plugs was a little over
.35, so I regapped them to .32-.35 just in case that was causing a little
problem. After cleaning up the cap the car runs fine again. I'll sell
the used pumps if someone wants em. Make an offer. The main pump was
stamped with a 95 and the transfer pump stamped with 99 in case you are
interested.
