To put them on my GTI took a fair amount of work, I wouldn't say bolt on. My car did have a fender bender on the front end though, so that was part of it. I have heard that guys with unmolested bumper mounts still had to work with them a little to get them to fit.

Ok, so I'm having my GLi repainted in a couple weeks. As one tends to
do
when undertaking a large project like this, I'm thinking of all kinds of
upgrades/changes to make. One of the upgrades I'm pondering is switching
bumpers (hey, they've gotta take them off to paint anyway). I was poking
around on RPI's website the other day and stumbled on MKII euro bumpers
(http://www.rpi-equipped.com/accessories.htm - scroll down to the MKII from
RPI section).

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with these on their car?
What
is the difference b/t the euro bumpers and the stock, small bumpers that are
on the car now (besides the obvious euro plate cutout on the front bumper)?
Any experience, etc. would be appreciated. Anyone know if these bolt right
up, using existing mounting points?

        Thanks all,

        Renard
