Okay, I found an old post from Alex in my archives:

"Forget the idea that you will drop or pull the motor out. What
my friends and I have always done is to slide the motor right
out the front end of the car. Disconnect the exhaust, CV's,
etc, support the engine/trans with a jack, unbolt the grill,
grill support, and front lower subframe, this way the front end
of your car is completely off. Then you simply undo the mounts,
and (while balancing it), roll the motor/trans straight out of
the engine compartment. We do that in about 1.5 hours with two
        peoople and basic tools. "

Of course, this is after removing the radiator, bumper, etc, and
swinging the a/c condenser (if so equipped) aside.

HTH.
