thanks for you replys, i knew most of this information. It was mostly the Carrat and the CL that I was curious about. hehe the only pic of a Jetta CL i ever saw was one taken by someone in africa. :) its funny to see an A2 in those surroundings. ----- Original Message ----- From: Corey Mielke To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, May 02, 2003 1:59 PM Subject: Re: [WWW.GLIREALM.COM] Jettas
Gl is a base model. No frils, 1.8 8V, crank windows, no power accesories etc. Some with AC, power steering. Carrat was the upgrade from the GL. Power options included windows, doors, mirrors. No ABS, and still a 1.8 8v motor. The GLI was the sport model. Factory Sport suspension (From the GTI,) 88-90 got a 1.8 16V motor, 90-92 got the 2.0 16v motor. All power options, Recaro racing seat inspired seating, ABS, Cruise, BBS Rims, Rear Spoiler, The 1.8 16v models got a front brake cooling air dam. They also had the premium stereo option. If your looking for an A2 Jetta the 90-92 GLI 2.0 16v is the cream of the crop.
