Subject: Elusive Coolant Leak Found!

Hey Folks,

Just wanted to let you all know that I isolated my mystery coolant leak. A
sealing washer had worn out between the 9A Block and the flange that
connects the heater coolant hose / pneumatic valve for the CA/EGR valve
activation vacuum lines. My head-gasket may still be okay after all! I
just have to gently dremel all the corrosion off of the block and the flange
before installing the new sealing washer. This leak has eluded me for well
over a year because it only leaked a few drops when the engine was running,
not enough to become very noticeable at all... If you folks have any issue
like this you may want to check and replace these as the 2.0 16v 9a motor
has more than one... where ever a coolant hose attaches to a flange that
bolts into the block , you can bet these are making the seal, or are
supposed to be ;-)
