Brian,
I have used the Permatex Ultra Grey Gasket Maker product. When I rebuilt my
transmission I used this instead of the paper-type case gasket to put the
two halves of the transmission case together. The case doesn't seem to have
any leaks where I used this product. There are other Permatex products that
may be a better fit for what you are trying to do.
HTH,
GBergthold
After my 2nd valve cover gasket, I'm looking for a better answer. The
2nd one, my shop even sold me some sealant stuff that you're supposed to
use on it, but it's leaking again.
I'm getting tired of smelling burning oil when I turn on the vent.
I think I've heard of people using RTV or some other make-a-gasket
compound. Anyone done this and had any luck?
Laters,
Brian
