Alright, guys.  Thanks for the input.  I think I'm going to put the stock head 
on the car for now, but I'm going to keep the ported head and eventually maybe 
get it fixed.  
Another thing with the ported head (which I forgot about), is that is has small 
cracks between some of the valves.  Believe it or not, according to VW techs, 
some cracking is "normal" and acceptable.  I'm going to have the head 
checked/tested to see if it's even worth fixing.  I only paid 450 for the 
rebuild WITH the port&polish job, so if it's bad, it's not a big loss.
