Hello all,
It's time to bid farewell to my daily driver GTI. Rust has taken its
toll on the body, but someone handy with a welder should be able to fix
it up enough to keep it going for a while longer.
Below are some of the details and a link to some photos of it.
219k miles
Engine uses very little oil and runs well with a slight stumble when
cold- it's done this for the 3 or so years and 50k miles I've had the
car and I've never bothered to fix it.
New distributor, timing belt, accessory belts this summer
Rebuilt alternator and replaced RF wheel bearing a few weeks ago.
New front brake pads (Mintex redbox) a month or two ago
I've replaced a multitude of other parts over the time I've had the
car, just ask.
VW "premium" head unit and CD changer from my former '97 GTI VR6- will
sell separately.
Neuspeed 22mm front swaybar- still have stock one, but I'd rather not
pull out the Neuspeed bar at this point.
Body has rust problems under driver's seat and other smaller rust areas
$750/BO
I have some other items I'll sell separately:
1 set of new Mintex Redbox rear pads $30
5- 5x13" VW alloy wheels with 4 Hakkapelitta 1 175/70-13 snows- the 5th
wheel has an old Hakka 10 on it. The Hakka 1's should be good for one
more winter. $200
Master cylinder (new)
Fuel distributor and steel fuel lines- functionality of parts unknown
(used)... make offer
Flex pipe for 1.8 16v... make offer
Shine lower stress bar for A1 cars. $20.
A couple of bent Snowflake wheels from '84 GTI- free for local pickup
or delivery, not really worth shipping.
Car and parts are located near Hartford, CT. The replacement car is
here already, so consider me a motivated seller.
Photos of the car and wheels can be seen here:
<http://pages.cthome.net/cfranson> I can provide photos of other parts
on request.
Thanks,
Chris
