I'd like to pick up some winter tires/wheels for my GLI- the Potenza 730s are great in the dry and wet, but absolutely horrible in the snow (yes, I know that they are not rated for snow driving). Before

Hear, hear.... wonderful tire, but I learned about its limitations the hard way. Fortunately, all I did was slam a curb and bend a rim. Heck, I remember my old no-name worn-till-they're-slicks 165/whatever/13 summer tires (I was a broke student, couldn't even afford tires) handling a proper Russian winter (well, mostly driving sideways) better than the Potenzas here...

Still, given that my new place of residence only gets about two or three snowfalls per winter, and is just simply very wet the rest of the time, it looks like I'll keep on slithering around on the 730s.

Cheers,
Oleg
