I don't have any experience with the Cup kit, but I do know that the H&R sport springs with Boge Turbo Gas are a great combination on the A2. They have a great ride, are very reasonably priced and you can even scoot around pretty darn good at the occasional DE.
I have been very satisfied over the ~100,000 miles I have had this set-up on my GTI. We put the same set-up on my brothers '91 GLI a few years ago and he has been very pleased as well (he lives in DC). Personally, I think the comfort/performance/price balance is just about perfect with the H&R sport w/Boge Turbo Gas. I would go with a stiffer shock/spring set-up on my A2 ONLY when I do not have use it as a daily driver. But....everyone tolerates ride stiffness differently. I'm debating on what to do and what to get for my 91 Jetta Gli. I have a blown rear shock and don't mind throwing a few bucks into upgrading the suspension. However, I don't want to shell out for the price of NEW Bilsteins for all four corners. I like the idea of H&R or Nuespeed Sport Springs but someone locally has a set of Nuespeed Race springs cheap. I'm not looking for the dumped look, however, would not mind the car sitting 1 inch lower all around. In addition, I'm not looking to lose any comfort but know that I need to sacrifice a bit when upgrading. I'm in the Boston area and it's full of Pot Holes at this time of the year. Does anyone have any experience with the H&R Cup Kit on an A2? All help is appreciated.
