Brand new front fenders and hoods are inexpensive for A2s and are available
from several sources. For example-- the GTi restoration project currently on
the Vortex found it less expensive to purchase new parts and have them painted
than to incur labor costs to repair his existing panels. I know you can get
them from www.parts4vws.com

I saw fenders at www.motorworks.com for under $100. However, I believe they
were recently acquired and the new company site does not seem to carry any
watercooled parts or accessories.

If I remember correctly, new A2 fenders were around ~$85 each and hood ~$125.

Subject: [a2-16v-list] 90 gli parts wanted

I am looking for a trunk, passenger side front fender and a hood for my
gli. I am in Tampa and have called a few salvage yards. Not finding too
much right now, but I may go with aftermarket pieces. My car is in the
body shop now getting ready to have all the dents fixed and repainted red.
Please share your opionions on aftermarket panels. I have been told
overall the fit and finish of most stuff is good (very vague - I know).

If you know of somewhere within a couple hours driving distance from Tampa
that has a trunk, hood, and passenger side front fender please let me
know. I'd be worried about shipping this stuff any distance.

Thank you,
Chad
