If the idle is steady at 900-1000 rpm, ie. doesn't "hunt", the idle switch is unlikely. On the subject of the idle switch, be sure you check the 3 wires that come from the harness, terminate in the connector that plugs into the 3 pin connector attached to the bracket on the throttle body, which then has 3 wires that go to the idle and WOT switches. On two occasions, I've had one of those wires break inside it's insulation, inside the rubber boot which goes around that back of the harness connector. Since visually everything looked ok, it took a while for me to discover the problem.
