I've had an ad for this on the Vortex for a couple of weeks. I moved
and I can't keep the car. I'm bummed but what else can I do?
Anyone looking for a GLI with low (65k) miles? I'll copy and paste the
Vortex post and also provide a link with pics.
I just moved over the weekend and I don't have the room for 2 cars. I
hate to sell my car but I have no other choice. I tried selling it back
in the fall be deceided against it.
Details:
1990 Jetta GLI 2.0L 16v
Tornado Red
BBS Wheels, Dunlop tires with less than 2,500 miles on them
Recaro seats (I would rate them an 8 out of 10)
Approx 65,000 ORIGINAL miles
COLD! A/C
No power windows
5-speed
Sony CD player with 150 amp (nothing too major)
Quad grill setup
No major rust
New Parts
(all work done in June of 04, under 2,500 miles driven since then)
All new rotors, pads, fluid
All new belts including timing
New water pump
New rebuilt alternator
New fuel accumulator and pump housing (with new lines between pumps)
New tires (as mentioned before)
New quad grill
New euro side repeaters
All new shifter bushings and installed weighted short shifter
Also, the starter was replaced prior to this work being done.
Needs:
New headliner
Front bumper needs to be re-attached on the side clips (I have new
clips)
Seems like it needs at least a new front engine mount if not other
mounts
Also seems like it needs a new strut mount on the F PS.
Alt belt squeals intermittently....sounds like a loose pulley
Weather stripping around doors seems to leak in a few places
Has an R-Title from light front end damage (previous owner)
.....a bullet hole....yes...a bullet hole in the front DS fender (ugh)
A few minor scratches and dents you'll find on a 15 y/o car.
I've put around $2,500 into the car over the past year. I got the car
for $3,500 a few years ago. I'm ok with taking a loss. I just need to
get rid of the car (as much as I don't want to) and I'd hate to put an
ad in the paper and have someone use it to beat on. I'd rather sell it
to someone who knows and is into this car.
I'm asking $3,000 or best offer
Here are some pictures of the car I took back in the fall when I was
thinking of selling it. The only picture I don't have is of the bullet
