I checked Adirondack which typically has some of the lowest prices, the MKIV calipers are around $120 each while the heavier MKII 16V calipers are $132 each

The calipers are much lighter. I have a golf 18t and when replacing the rear pad/rotors I was very surprised at how light they were compared to the ones on my gli.
