I actually started searching for my old email membership confirmations to make sure I was still enrolled on the list. I thought maybe I had been dropped from the rolls.
Thanks everyone for the info regarding transmissions. My 16V project will only contain slight modifications so I do not anticipate power above 150hp. Its a 2.0L Motronic which I scavanged from a 92 Passat. I will have an exhaust and some mild cams but nothing more. I'm concurrently building an O2A with a Quaife for my Corrado. And my wife bought me a Peloquin for an O2O which I plan to use in the 16V. I've not had a chance to road test either. However, both always get good reviews from the auto-magazines. The Peloquin seems to have introduced some honest competition into the LSD marketpalce. The result was a significant drop in street price of the English-made Quaifes. Autotech started selling them at a discount for the first time to prevent loosing market share. The Peloquin sells on the street for around $800. The only difference I've encountered is that my Quaife required the additional purchase of the bolt kit ($90) The Peloquin --on the otherhand-- included the bolt kit in the purchase price. That may have been a freebie from the merchant that sold me the Peloquin. Anyways, armed with good information from all of you, I'm off to search for a rebuildable core which I'll rebuild prior to installation of the LSD. I anticipate when complete-- a nice lightweight daily commuter that I can autocross on the weekends. -Les -----Original Message----- >From: Chad Rebuck <[email protected]> >Sent: Sep 20, 2006 12:40 PM >To: [email protected] >Subject: [a2-16v-list] Fwd: Need a transmission - recommendations please > >Larry - I think that cost more that my car :) > >16v list - Anyway, just wanted to let you all know the list email was >not working until very recently.
