I'd like your opinions.

My personal project is a 1985 chassis that originally was equipped with manual
steering.
My 16V donor car is a 92 Passat which means the engine is equipped with power
steering.

Some of my friends who take their cars to the track recommend I keep the manual
steering rack in place. However, I don't intend to spend time at the track with
this car. My intention is for a daily commuter.

I do have the Steering column and the steering rack from the donor vehicle.
There will be some wiring involved. The Passat steering column is more like a
corrado but from visual observation appears to be identical.

Any opinions?
