Cold start injector only runs for about 8 seconds. Even if it were to continue 
operating, it wouldn't make the car stall under load. 

Older cis-e cars are very susceptible to vacuum leaks. You've already hit on 
one of the culprits - injector seals. Change the seals and the inserts as both 
good PM and a good starting point.
