I spoke with Collin at Techtonics as well. He suggested running the engine for a few hundred miles to see if goes down a bit. If not, perhaps going to a lesser weight oil (i'm running 20w50 now), and maybe even a pump with 30mm gears from a 1.8 16v. The 2.0 16v pump uses a 36mm gears. With the scat rods they are not rifle drilled like the stock ones were so he thought that could contribute to higher pressures.
The pump relief is supposed to let go at 120+ and that may be about the highest pressure I've seen so far just after starting up and holding at 2k rpm. At least the oil filter gasket didn't blow out yet. On Tue, Oct 4, 2011 at 4:46 PM, Matthew Yip <[email protected]> wrote: > WOW!! That's one really up-tight engine with that kind of oil pressure.
