A few years ago, I followed the numbers on a new cap after swapping heads and it almost started, backfiring really bad like the timing was way off. I checked and re-checked everything for a week until I realized that the numbers on the cap were reversed. I assumed that the 8v and 16v caps were the same, just different rotation. Anyway, yesterday, I took off my cap, looked fine, I sanded the center of the rotor a bit and put everything back together, now it runs worse. All of a sudden it's running way too rich. I'll look into it when I have more time.
